Weekly Notes for 8th July 2019
8th July 2019
U12 City League Division 3
Our last league game took place on Friday 5th July in the Division 3 City League when we travelled to play table toppers St Mary's in Kilmacthomas. A warm evening for hurling and it was a game that did not disappoint with some great passages of play from both teams. Best for Roanmore on the night were Noah McCormack, Dylan McNamara and Daniel Ryan. Despite losing on a scoreline of 3-5 to 0-5 the lads have secured a semi-final spot next Friday opponents and venue to be confirmed.
U12 Division 2
Our U12 Division 2 team travelled to Passage in what turned out to be a one sided match especially in the first half when we led 4-10 to 0-0 at the break. The second half saw Passage up the work rate and put our lads under pressure but the damage had already been done and we ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 5-12 to 1-4. Onto the semi-final in a good position having topped the group with 6 wins from 6.
Roanmore Family Day
Sunday 14th of July 11:30am it is hoped to have our annual Eamonn Cody and Tom O Brien Tournaments.
Congratulations to the U12 team who had a sponsorship walk on the Greenway last Sunday in preparation for the Stephen O’Keeffe tournament in August. This tournament between Ronamore, Clarecastle and Cu Chullainns has been running for over 20 years and is a high point to the clubs juvenile calendar.
On Saturday mornings in Roanmore Cleaboy 11:30am we have our Juvenile Academy. This is where young players get their first introduction to hurling in a fun and safe environment. All coaches are Garda Vetted and have completed GAA coaching courses. Hurley's and Helmets provided for beginners.
