Our U12 Hurlers got their City league under way this week with 2 games in Cleaboy. First up was Clonea on Monday of last week. The team started well with an early goal which was soon cancelled out by Clonea this would be the pattern of the game as the play moved from one end to the other. Some great scores were taken by both teams and after the referee blew the final whistle it was Roanmore that were victorious in a high scoring game 5-8 to 6-2.
With Confidence high after the Clonea game St.Marys came to Cleaboy for round 2 of the U12 on Friday night. After heavy rain during the day underfoot conditions were difficult but both teams competed very well. Roanmore trailed at half time by 3pts to 2pts. The lads regrouped for the second half with some astute tactical adjustments from the management Roanmore piled on the pressure in the second half resulting in Roanmore scoring the only goal of the game and taking the points with a win on a score of 1-4 to 5pts. Well done to the whole panel on two excellent performances.
